Okay, who remembers what I promised in the “Bridal Fair” story posted on October 28? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Did you remember I promised to tell you about an event I was going to do with Laneige Bridal? Did you remember it was going to be HUUUGGGEE? Did you have to go to the website to remember? If you did, that’s okay. I won’t tell anyone.
The original plan began in October when my boss from the limo company offered me a two-hour limousine ride as a door prize for the Foundation. I thought about it, and had a different idea. I asked him if he would be okay with me using the limo to take some cancer patients and their husbands for a ride to see the Christmas lights. He said that would be fine, and I started to put the plan together.
I met Chelsea from Laneige Bridal at the Bridal Fair, and she asked me about the Foundation. I told her how it was started and how the money goes directly to cancer patients. When I told her about my plan for the limousine ride, she immediately said “Let me furnish the gowns and tuxes for that night!” Oh my gosh, that would be great!” I said. From there, it expanded to getting Austin Kade to provide a free hair and makeup appointment, and a catered dinner. We lined up flowers, music, and a photographer. I was so excited. Everything was arranged for a special night in Idaho Falls.
It was at that point, I had a great idea. I called Chelsea, and said “We should see if we could do the same thing for some patients in Pocatello.” I contacted my boss at the limo company, and he said he was fine with it. He is such a generous man. We got everything arranged. So, on Wednesday and Thursday, we had the first annual Shannon Wilker Foundation Night Out in Idaho Falls, and Pocatello.
I have so many people and businesses to thank for helping make this event happen. A special thanks to Michael at Black Knight Limousine for your kindness and generosity. Thanks to Billman’s and Puerta Vallarta for the meal. Thanks to Kool Beanz and Preston Piper for the venue and the music in Idaho Falls. Thanks to Petal Passion and Bud’s and Bloomers for the flowers, and Lindsey Jones and Tara Tracy for the photography. A special thanks to Laneige Bridal and Harts Tux and Gowns for making the ladies and their husbands look so beautiful. I want to thank Kristi Richardson and her sister Pam Sheppard for all their help and support. Most of all, I want to thank Chelsea Jensen for all her hard work. She did so much to help put this together, and I am so grateful.
There were many special moments from both nights, and it was an extremely rewarding. I know my Angel Shannon was happy and had a big smile on her face. I will always LOVE AND MISS YOU sweetheart.
Next week: Part Two
P.S. When I went to try on my Tux, I wore my gym shoes with white socks. I put on the black pants and the black shoes. The lady honestly asked me if I had some darker socks. I must really look like Cliff Clavin. (You younger readers might need to google that name)
