The Answer Was Yes
I hope all of you had a great Fourth of July and was able to make some great memories with your families. I was so glad we were able to have a parade and a fireworks show. I know there were a lot of people that felt the same way I did. What’s that you’re asking? What does any of that have to do with the title of the story? If the answer was yes, what was the question? Okay, I will get to that, but first I need to provide a little background to the question.
Kristi’s birthday was on Monday July 5th, so we didn’t just have a good Fourth of July weekend, we had a fantastic Kristi’s birthday/Fourth of July weekend. We went to the parade, a movie, and the fireworks on Saturday. On Sunday we all went out to Justin’s for a barbeque. It was nice because Ryan came down from Washington, and Kristi’s sons Jeff, Carter, and Carter’s wife Robin were there as well. The only sad thing was Brittney and Jayci were not able to make it. Afterwards we watched the firework’s in Ammon.
On Monday, I told Kristi I wanted to take her to lunch for her birthday, but first I needed to go out to Thunder Stadium to see if it would be a good venue for an event I wanted to do for the Foundation. When we got to the stadium, we walked up to the bleachers talking about ideas for the fundraiser. I paused for a moment and then took Kristi’s hands and looked at her. Then I said, “This is where we first met, and where our story began. I didn’t know it at the time, but I know now we were meant for each other. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind Shannon led me to you. I promise you I will always keep you safe. I will always be there for you, and I will do everything I can to make you happy.” Then I got down on one knee and asked her, “Kristi, will you marry me?” And now you know why the title of the story is, “The Answer Was Yes!”
We spent the next few hours contacting family and telling them our good news. Everyone is so happy for us and wished us all the best. I know there are several Angels in Heaven that are happy for us and will always be there to guide us along our path. I am so grateful and blessed to have Kristi in my life and will always be appreciative to Shannon for guiding me to her. Thanks for reading.
Next week: The new job begins
P.S. The guys at basketball gave me their congratulations and Kriti their condolences. That is not a problem for me.
P.P.S. I have been informed that July has been officially named “Kristi’s Birthday Month” That is not a problem for me either.
